SkinCeuticals Retexturing Activator
I catch up with Stacey, one of our Skin Laser Practitioners. Stacey’s must have product is ‘SkinCeuticals Retexturing Activator.’
‘I recommend this product to a lot of my clients. Its brilliant!’
‘Skin needs to be exfoliated & moisturised. ‘
With SkinCeuticals Retexturing Activator you will achieve exfoliated and hydrated skin. This product both exfoliates and balances skin moisture levels at the same time, making it a great product for all skin types. This serum improves overall skin texture and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I also recommend this product to my patients who suffer with acne, as it reduces pimples and stubborn scarring. With Retexturing Activator your skin feels soft and hydrated rather than dry and irradiated like some exfoliating skin care products.
When should you apply Retexturing Activator?
It can be applied twice a day if needed, morning and evening. Cleanse your skin with warm water, then use 3 to 4 drops and apply it your face, neck & chest area.
What skin treatments compliment SkinCeuticals Retexturing Activator?
This product compliments skin treatments such as skin peels, for example the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel. This treatment exfoliates and renews your skin and by using a product such as Retexturing Activator daily at home it will enable you to sustain your results from your treatment giving you smoother, softer & healthier looking skin.
Thank Stacey!

Here’s a little bit about me, my life and my must have skin care products..
‘I have to admit that I am not a morning person. I hate my alarm clock with a passion, however I aim to get up in plenty of time to apply my morning skin care products and eat breakfast which is usually a fruit smoothie or a big bowl of cereal.
Firstly I cleanse with the Obagi Gentle Cleanser, this is a really refreshing wash for the morning. I then apply my Obagi Vitamin C 10% Serum, SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel, SkinCeuticals AOX Eye Gel and then Heliocare Gel SPF 50. (In that order!)
My typical day at work includes seeing clients for their initial consultations, carrying out in depth skin analysis where I can recommend the best clinic grade skin care products personal to your skin type and concerns. The most popular treatments that I carry out include laser hair removal, skin peels, dermaroller, and microdermabrasion. I also make personalised scrabble art, to visit my work click here..
Outside work anyone who knows me is aware of my love of food. I eat everything except baked beans and gherkins. I like to eat out and visit different restaurants. I have recently started hot yoga and I’m aiming to get into great shape for my best friends wedding in May.
At night time I cleanse with warm water then apply Retriderm 0.5% Retinol Serum, then SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel. As a luxurious, hydrating treat for my skin I apply SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque twice a week.’

My top 5 must have products!
You can never have too many shoes but you can have too many skin care products! Keep it simple with my top 5…
1. Cleanser
Find a cleanser to suit your skin type and use it daily! I cleanse with warm water and use it twice to make sure I remove all my make up and any excess oil and impurities.
Click here to find out which cleanser is best for your skin type.
2. Hydrating Serum/Antioxidant
Keeping your skin hydrated is key to healthy glowing skin. Apply a product which adds moisture back into your skin morning and night after cleansing. Look for ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid as this helps to replenish moisture loss within the skin. Vitamin B5 is also great as it hydrates skin keeping it firm and smooth. SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel or Medik8 Hydr8 B5 are great hydrating serums! Daily Antioxidants are also very important as they help protect and repair our skin from free-radical damage which causes premature skin ageing. Antioxidants also improve skin tone and overall skin health.
3. Eye Product
The skin around our eyes is the thinnest and most delicate. It needs TLC! Plus this area is most likely to show first signs of ageing. Click here for my blog on how to look after your eyes. A great eye product can also reduce puffiness and dark circles! (A Monday morning must have). I recommend SkinCeuticals AOX Eye Gel or Obagi Elastiderm Eye Treatment products.
4. Treatment product – Correct/Prevent
These products are usually applied at night (whilst your skin repairs itself!) and depending on your skin concerns this can include pigmentation, rosacea, acne, ageing etc.
5. Daily SPF
The biggest skin care myth is that you don’t need to wear a sun protection product when there’s no obvious sunshine. WRONG! Damaging UVA rays is present all year and can cause skin ageing and skin cancer. Look for a product that protects and moisturises. Heliocare products are great as they do both and are packed full of antioxidants including Fernblock.
Heliocare Gel Cream Colour SPF 50, Heliocare Hydragel Sun Touch SPF 50 and SkinCeuticals Ultra Facial UV Defense SPF 50 are fab! They provide moisture, protection and light coverage. Plus there lightweight and don’t clog your skin.
So there is my top 5! Any questions or advice please get in touch.
My Review – Magnifibres brush on false lashes
My Product Review – This week its Magnifibres!
My social calendar was pretty busy during Christmas and New Year so it was a great time to review Magnifibres brush on false lashes. I always want to make sure the products I stock are worth it and work!
Magnifibres brush on false lashes – 9/10
Price – £18.99
What is it? – A mascara which consists of white cotton fibres which you then apply to your mascara for added thickness and length.
I often use false lashes to add extra volume and length to my natural lashes. I decided to change my usual routine and use Magnifibres brush on false lashes. I applied my usual mascara (I use Rimmel volume flash the max bold curves mascara) then ensuring my mascara was still wet I applied the Magnifibres. I made sure the white cotton fibers were applied evenly to all my lashes including the bottom lashes. I waited 30 seconds then applied a second coat of my normal mascara making sure all the white fibres were covered.
My main concern was that Magnifibres may be tricky to apply and irritate my eyes. However applying it was really easy (compared to the stress that can come with applying falsies!) My eyes are very sensitive and the cotton fibres did not bother my eyes at all. I removed my eye make up as usual with SkinCeuticals Simply Clean Cleanser and had no problem removing the magnifibres.
My tip – Make sure your normal mascara isn’t dry, the fibres need to attach to wet mascara for it to work effectively.
If the fuss of false lashes aren’t for you, or you want to add thickness and length to your normal lashes then magnifibres are definitely for you!
Great Skin Care. Great Make Up!
From New York fashion week to glossy magazines to the gym. The beauty phenomenon that is Charlotte Tilbury make up is everywhere. Her make up is on every woman’s wish list or already in our make up bags!
Charlotte highlights that looking after your skin, focusing on the ‘prep’ of your skin and your skin care routine are key to looking flawless.
‘I am obsessed with skincare, it’s so important for keeping a youthful blemish-free complexion.’
The three key ingredients Charlotte recommends every woman you should have in her ‘magical skin care routine’ are..
‘To flood the skin with moisture.’ use hyaluronic acid. I recommend SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel.
‘To boost collagen for a virtual face list’ look for Peptides. Peptides carry products deeper into the skin. I recommend NeoStrata Cellular Restoration and SkinCeuticals A.G.E eye complex.
‘To renew the skin’ use a Retinol. I like to use SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.3 or Medik8 3TR.
Tips from Tilbury..
? ‘My secret to young skin is staying out of the sun. I cover myself in sun cream.‘
? ‘You are never too young to start using great skin care, I started using an eye cream when I was 16 and never looked back.‘
? ‘Give a woman the right make up and she can conquer the world!‘

Autumn Skin Care Tips!
The clocks go back soon, the weather is getting colder and evenings are getting darker. Now is the perfect time to rethink your daily skin care routine. Autumn is the best time to detox our body and skin after the Summer months – it’s time to repair and refresh!
1. Exfoliate
Sun-kissed skin will start to fade and our skin complexion can look dull and tired. So start using an exfoliant, look for ingredients such as Gylcolic acid (AHA’s) or PHAs such as gluconolactone. These key active ingredients exfoliate the skin stimulating cell renewal, reduce pigmentation and age spots, brighten skin tone and unclog pores.

2. Post-Sun Skin
Now is the time to correct any skin damage cause by excessive sun exposure. I recommend introducing a treatment product to remove any unwanted pigmentation and age spots caused by the Sun. Introducing a daily antioxidant Vitamin C product to your morning skin care routine will help to restore the elasticity, glow and suppleness of your skin.
Pigmentation Products:
- SkinCeuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector
- Thiospot Skin Brightening Skin Roller
- Obagi Nu-Derm Blend Fx
- Obagi-C Rx System C- Cleansing Gel
Vitamin-C Products:
- SkinCeuticals Serum 10
- SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF
- Medik8 C-Tetra and CE-Tetra
- Obagi Professional-C Serums 10%/15%/20%
3. Protection
UVA and UVB rays are harmful to our skin and present 365 days a year. Keep protecting your skin with a daily sun protection product. My tip is to find a tinted SPF and use it for coverage as well as moisturising and protecting your skin. I recommend:
4. Anti-ageing
Now is the perfect time to introduce a powerful night time anti-ageing product such as Retinol.
5. Moisturise
From cold air to central heating are skin is exposed to a variety of climates and it can become dull, flaky and dry. I suggest introducing a hydrating moisturising skin care product.

Is retinol the anti-ageing secret?
What skin product boosts collagen, reduces the appearance of fine lines, unclogs blocked pores, increases skin cell renewal and brightens skin pigmentation… RETINOL!
FACTS
Retinol is a break through product in the aesthetic skin care industry. It is the only topical product which can directly create new collagen within the skin. It is the best anti-ageing skin care product available.
Retinol (Retinoids) is derived from Vitamin A, which is a powerful antioxidant that repairs and protects the skin.
Retinol interrupts the natural breakdown of collagen and elastin within the skin. It also stimulates new collagen to prevent further lines and wrinkles and increase elasticity and firmness.
Retinol also controls and reduces excess oil and unclogs blocked pores. It is recommended for acne prone skin types.
How To Use
If you have never used a retinol product before start using a 0.3 % Retinol. Apply 2-3 times per week, after the 3rd week increase use to 3-4 times a week.
Start on 0.3 % retinol and progress to a 0.5 %. 1 % strength retinol is available in clinic.
Stop using Retinol four weeks before high sun exposure.
Do not use if you are pregnant.
Skin peeling is normal and is part of the skin renewal process. If you experience a reaction such as severe skin irritation or redness then stop using the product immedietly.
