We were lucky enough to welcome Dr David Taylor (MB ChB, Bachelor Of Medicine, Bachelor Of Surgery), a well recognised advanced facial aesthetics Doctor and trainer to the clinic last week to run a training day on advanced Dermal Fillers with two of our experienced Nurse prescribers.
Four willing participants came to the clinic and acted as models for the training, which included:
- Thorough and effective assessment of the face structure
- The anatomy of the face
- When to use a Cannula needle and when to select a standard needle
- How the three main Dermal Filler products from Allergan can tackle a range of our patients’ aesthetic needs
A great deal of time was dedicated to the best way of assessing each and every patient’s face. It is this crucial consultation time spent with your Nurse before treatment that enables a treatment plan to be put in place, to get the absolute best result for you.
The three Dermal Filler products that were used throughout the day were Juvéderm Voluma®, Volbella® & Volift®, which are all part of the Nurses toolkit to create a different aesthetic across different zones of the face. It isn’t an exact science and relies on the Nurses experience and creativity to achieve the best result for each patient.
Juvéderm Voluma®, as the name suggests, is designed to replace the lost skin volume that occurs with age, particularly from the mid-face area. It is injected to restore soft, full cheeks and make the cheekbones appear higher and can also be used to re-contour facial features where necessary in each individual patient.
Juvéderm Volift® is useful for providing natural volume in areas of the face including the naso-lasial folds.
Juvéderm Volbella® is perfect for gently and restoring a natural fullness to the lips and defining the lip contours. It is also commonly used to smooth away the fine lines in the perioral area that are associated with years of smoking.
As with all Allergan products, one of the reasons that they are considered so effective is the longevity that they offer. All of the above three products have been clinically proven to last between 12 and 18 months.
All four patients were treated with a combination of these three products and the results were fantastic. Click here for the most up-to-date pictures.
At Good Skin Days, we are committed to the continuous training of our treating staff and this day provided an invaluable insight for the attendees in the area of advanced Dermal Fillers.
