Which cleansers do I use and why?
Cleansing is the most important part of my daily skin care routine. If you do not use a daily cleanser excess oil, dirt and make up left on your skin can build up causing breakouts, blemishes and uneven skin tone. If your skin has not been cleansed properly products applied to the skin cannot be absorbed thoroughly. It’s like painting a picture on a dirty canvas!
I use two different cleansers as my skin is a combination skin type. Sometimes it can be oily, especially around my nose and forehead and other times my skin can feel dry and flaky.
For oily blemish prone skin I recommend SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Cleansing Gel. £22.95. I use this twice a week to reduce excessive oil and prevent breakouts and blemishes. I find the minty smell refreshing and my skin tone looks noticeable brighter. This cleanser contains glycolic acid and salicylic acid which helps to unclog pores, reduce excess oil and gentle exfoliates your skin.
I have combination skin which can be sensitive therefore daily I use Obagi Gentle Cleanser £40.00. I love this cleanser! Its not too harsh but still removes my daily make up. After cleansing my skin feels soft and smooth unlike some cleansers which can leave skin feeling tight. This cleanser is great to use after skin treatments such as skin peels, Dermaroller and Microdermabrasion.
What products do I apply after cleansing?
In the morning I apply SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel, Obagi Elastiderm Eye Cream and then Heliocare Gel SPF 50.
At night I apply SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel followed by SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture.
