Microdermabrasion rejuvenates your skin by rapidly stimulating collagen production, causing it to renew and improve itself using the body’s own healing and repair mechanisms. At Good Skin Days we provide specialist medical microdermabrasion equipment to get the best possible results from the treatment.
When you book an appointment for Medical Microdermabrasion, we will initially assess your skin to ensure that you are suitable for treatment and that it’s the most appropriate treatment for your needs. The treatment itself and the aftercare process will be explained in full and we will answer any questions that you may have.
Good Skin Days uses the Mattioli Ultrapeel Medical Microdermabrasion device which continues to be the ‘gold standard’ in Microdermabrasion equipment, using Aluminium Oxide crystals. This range has a unique patented nozzle design, delivering the crystals at 45 degrees to the skin, ensuring an even treatment. The ‘vacuum only’ technology coupled with sealed, disposable consumables, makes the Ultrapeel machine suitable for invasive treatments, such as active acne, scar revision and stretch marks, without the risk of cross contamination between clients.

What happens during Microdermabrasion Treatment?
Microdermabrasion is a deep cleansing treatment that uses a finely controlled jet of micro-crystals to remove dead skin cells and reveal brighter, smoother skin.
Medical Microdermabrasion instantly makes your skin look cleaner and more refreshed. There are long-term benefits of Microdermabrasion too; blemishes will be smoothed and collagen production stimulated, leading to an improvement in the tone and texture of your complexion. The treatment is painless, takes around 25 minutes and needs no recovery time at all. After your Medical Microdermabrasion treatment you will look refreshed with a beautiful, healthy glow.
Medical Microdermabrasion is for all skin types and is used to improve:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scarring
- Stretch marks
We recommended a course of either 3 or 6 Microdermabrasion treatments, which will be discussed in your initial consultation. After the course is complete, maintenance treatments are a great way of ensuring that this healthy ‘glow’ remains. We will advise you how regularly these should be undertaken, for the best results on your skin.
After treatment, your skin may be a little pink. You will notice improvements after your first treatment and any redness will fade very rapidly, leaving your skin looking fresh, feeling super-smooth and with a healthy glow.
Prior to Treatment
To ensure that you receive the best possible results, preparation prior to treatment is a vital part of the process.
- Prepare skin with our recommended skincare regime.
- Avoid waxing or laser for 48 hours prior to treatment.
- If you are using any product/s containing vitamin A, glycolic (or any resurfacing ingredient) as a part of your skin care regime, you are advised to stop using these for three days prior to treatment.
- Please notify the clinic in good time of any medications that you are taking. Taking certain prescription medications (for example, Roaccutane) may mean that you cannot be treated.
- Please notify your Practitioner if your medical status changes or if you become pregnant.
