The most trusted skin clinic in Leeds and Bradford, West Yorkshire. Specialists in Laser Hair Removal, anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.
Working at Good Skin Days its very tempting to try the different skin rejuvantion treatments whether it be Microdermabrasion, Clear and Brilliant, Dermaroller or a Chemical Peel. I decided on the Obagi Blue Radiance skin peel as my skin was feeling rough, dull, tired and I felt it had lost its glow.
I’ve never had a skin peel so I was a little nervous as my pain tolerance is very low! However I regularly have Laser hair removal and its a lot less painful.
Natasha cleansed my face using the Obagi Gentle Gel Cleanser then applied the peel. The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel contains Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Lactic acid which combined exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin cells, improve uneven skin tone and texture, and improve the appearance of any acne scarring, blemishes and fine lines. The salicylic acids also removes any blocked pores and reduces blackheads. The solution penetrates into your skin causing the skin to ‘peel’ which is the desired affect. The peeling skin is dead skin cells which have been removed from your skin leaving new, soft and more refined skin.
As Natasha applied the peel it was uncomfortable and stung for about 2 minutes, then eased and my face just felt warm. After the treatment my face was pink for an hour then it settled down. I would avoid going to the gym after a peel as sweating can irritate the skin. My skin the next day felt great! Baby soft! I did have areas of peeling( see image below) and Natasha highlighted these areas to me after my treatment and recommended applying SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel and to keep my skin hydrated and moisturised.
That evening I cleansed with my Obagi Gentle Cleanser and applied SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel and Daily Moisture.
The next day my skin looked so much healthier! My skin felt firm, more radiant and silky smooth. I still have a few flaky patches so I applied SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture daily as well my daily Heliocare Gel SPF 50.
With this treatment your skin can peel up to ten days after the treatment so plan ahead if you have any events coming up. However I found the peeling wasn’t too aggressive and can easily be covered with tinted moisturisers such as Heliocare Gel Cream Color or Heliocare Hydragel Sun Touch SPF 50.
If your skin needs a boost I highly recommend this Skin Peel.
Evenings are now dark and chilly but late night Christmas shopping hasn’t started just yet. So I thought it was great opportunity to host a Skin Care Open Evening at the Clinic. The theme for the night was a cosy girly night in! Who doesn’t love the idea of fizz, sweet treats and discussing all things skin care?
Brand representatives and ambassadors from SkinCeuticals, Obagi, Heliocare and NeoStrata came to support the evening and chat to our lovely customers and clients about their favourite products and their current skin care regimes. In between munching on marshmallows, popcorn and sipping hot chocolate.
Our team at Good Skin Days invited guests to use the VISIA Skin Analyser and have an in depth skin analysis and consultation. This was a great feature as the VISIA highlights any skin concerns such as pigmentation, dry areas, UV damage, excess oil and fine lines. We then tailored their skin care regime to help their skin become as healthy as possible by advising which products best suited their skin. The evening was also a great opportunity to raise money for the British Skin Foundation through our product raffle!

What was happening? Build A Beauty Blog Workshop!
Who? Hosted by Antonia Mariconda, expert in all things beauty, health, aesthetics and cosmetic surgery.
A little history…
My family has been in the Aesthetics Industry since 1991 with my Father founding Lasercare Clinics LTD now re branded as the national Skin Clinic chain SK:N. So when I joined the family business in Feb this year the pressure was really on! I’m qualified in beauty therapy however I had very little experience of the cosmetic and aesthetics world. The opportunity to create, launch and run an online skin care shop and blog from scratch was exciting yet scary, and the pressure was on! ( and still is..!)
A few months into the job I attended the FACE 2014 conference in London to expand on my skin care and business knowledge and to search for new and exciting skin care products. Antonia spoke during one of my lectures, she stood out as she was extremely glam, focused, switched on and driven! As soon as Antonina told me about ‘The Build a Beauty Blog Workshop’ I reserved my place!
The Workshop
The workshop was set out beautifully with a lot of thought and detail going into the location, lay out, lighting, yummy healthy snacks, goody bags and the presentation content. A mixture of useful advice from technology wiz Mark Bugg, PR Princess Jenny Pabila and Blogging Queen Antonia. I learned a lot of valuable information… so watch this space! or Blog!
Overall it was a fantastic workshop and well worth the trip back to London! Here are a few key motivational messages that have stuck with me from Saturday…
A big thank you to Antonia and her team! I am working my way through the brilliant goody bag! Thank you for hosting a wonderful and worth it workshop.
We'll get in touch with more info and to book your free consultation or first treatment.
