We were blown away recently by feedback that one of our patients wrote about us on social media after her Laser Hair Removal treatment. We invited her to pop back into the clinic and tell us more…
At home micro needling is the newest ‘must have’ treatment for younger, healthier looking skin. Across the media, everywhere you look there is a beauty editor, model or beauty blogger raving about micro needling.
What is Micro Needling?
The product we use at our clinic for micro needling is Genuine Dermaroller™. This is a sterile medical device, which contains hundreds of micro-needles. The Dermaroller is rolled over the surface of the skin, and the micro-needles penetrate the dermis (the second layer of tissue which lies between the Epidermis and the Hypodermis) which is the layer that contains the collagen and elastin properties. The body responds by creating a healing process, enhancing the production of collagen and elastin within the skin, regenerating it and improving its appearance.
Patients who have facial thread veins removed at our clinic are often surprised by how easy and quick the treatment is. They seem to expect that removal of spider veins is a complex or painful procedure, and are pleasantly surprised when it’s not. In this blog we’ll look at the basics of Laser Facial Thread Vein Treatment and how you could benefit from it.
What are facial thread veins?
Thread veins are tiny blood vessels that present on the skin’s surface. On the face they’re most commonly found on or around the nose and cheeks. The veins are usually red in colour but can also be purple or blue.
Why are people not aware that they can have facial thread veins removed?
Treating facial thread veins via laser is actually a highly successful and predictable treatment.
A lot of our patients have been to see their GPs and have been given no advice of how to treat them, as it’s not something the NHS actively offers. The advice many patients are given seems to be “there are private providers that offer treatment, so Google it”.
Another reason is that it’s not marketed as much by private clinics as the demand is not the same as other laser treatments such as hair removal and tattoo removal. This is strange as a large percentage of the UK population do suffer from facial thread veins but due to the lack of NHS coverage they simply continue with them.
It really isn’t a case of one method for all – there are many ways in which lip filler can be used to change the shape of your lips. Today we talk to Jayne Taylor and Caroline Hill, two of our Registered Nurse Practitioners about the differences in what can be achieved and why every patient is an individual.
Before your first treatment, you will have a free consultation where we will discuss at length your particular concerns and what you would like to achieve with lip filler. [Read more…] about Maximum volume or restoring natural shape?
In my time at Good Skin Days, I have seen lip fillers go from being a subtle treatment, popular with our more mature customers, to a treatment that is becoming more and more popular with young people wanting a glamorous look. In this blog I will explain why this treatment is not to be taken lightly.
We have had a number of young people visit the clinic with a photo of Kylie Jenner. Our job is to give them the facts.
The age of people seeking injectable treatments has dropped significantly, particularly people looking for lip fillers. There is no doubt, that the representation of celebrities with what are commonly known as OTT (over the top) lips is contributing to this upsurge. When we meet people who are looking to achieve this look, it is important that we present people with the facts, not only about the treatment but about the images that they are seeing in the media. “It was the first time that I had the treatment. It seemed like the logical choice but was I too young for Botox? Watch this video and find out more about my experience.”
Projected global sales of Botox are set to reach over £2 billion by 2018 and more twentysomethings are choosing it than ever before. This post explains why more and more ‘young’ people are trying to change the face of their future…
Botox may still be disliked by some people but the treatment remains extremely popular. People often ask me what age they should start having Botox, and I normally respond by telling them that we generally treat people between the ages of 30 and 60. However, Botox is a treatment that is becoming more popular with people in their twenties and I can see the logic in that.
